Michael Shoob is a film maker known for his his 2004 documentary, Bush’s Brain, whose subject was Karl Rove and the political tactics he used to propel George W. Bush to the White House. Shoob joins us to discuss Rove’s increasing involvement with John McCain’s presidential campaign. Rove is currently a paid commentator for Fox News, and recently has been found in contempt of Congress. Later this year Michael Shoob will release First Comes Love, a film featuring Kathy Bates and Henry Winkler.
Dr. Stephen Zunes is a Professor of Politics and International Studies at the University of San Francisco, where he chairs the program in Middle Eastern Studies. A native of North Carolina, Professor Zunes received his PhD. from Cornell University, his M.A. from Temple University and his B.A. from Oberlin College. Professor Zunes is the author of scores of articles for scholarly and general readership on Middle Eastern politics, U.S. foreign policy, international terrorism, nuclear nonproliferation, strategic nonviolent action, and human rights. Dr. Zunes has made frequent visits to the Middle East and other conflict regions, where he has met with top government officials, academics, journalists and opposition leaders.
