Very interesting interview w/ Ms. Lee, you asked some good questions. When she said the public sector in China was run like a corporation my first thought was, “You mean ass kissing, bootlickers stabbing backs and crushing new ideas to display fealty to entrenched leadership?” She went the other way implying meritocratic forces. This paradox remained unresolved, but you took some good shots at it.

9/11 commission… What a cruel joke. Some past commissioners are now saying that they were not allowed to do their jobs. The report was a farce, 9/11 attacks were a afalse flag operation.

First of all, thank you for making this content available – I’ve been following “The Monitor” for about a year now and it’s become my favorite source of news. I really enjoy the views and the debates!

But I’m afraid my motive for posting is a more selfish one: I suppose you know, but the podcast list hasn’t been updated in a while (at the moment the past two shows are missing). Would it be possible to do something about that? Since I live in Europe it’s inconvenient to stream live and I rely on the podcast.

this was a great interview. I learned alot about both regions and appreciated Ali’s genuine approach and grassroots perspective. I can’t remember the last time iheard non-academic nor political voice representing the pakistani people, in fact it may have been the first time. I heard Elizabeth on Monitor a few minutes ago and it was mentioned that cities want the prisons and that is the reason that Huntsville is such a pretty town. We may want the jobs, but please keep in mind that the prisons pay no property taxes, and the average jobs won’t buy a home, maybe a nice car if you are lucky, but not if you are a single mom with children to feed.

Thanks for hosting Mr.Raed Jarrar and sharing with us his perspectives on Iraq war. I’m also Iraqi-American here in Houston. I called the studio trying to add a little comment to enrich the conversation. Mr. Jarrar is seeing things from one direction also trying to speak for all Iraqis!! he obviously has his line and agenda, he blames the US Gov. and US troops for everything happened in Iraq, forgetting the presence of other regional forces and political wills which have their own agenda on the Iraqi soil. Extremists and militia backed by regional governments and even from outside this region. Mr. Jarrar forgot to mention anything about, which I don’t know if it was intentional or not!! In case of the full withdrawal of US troops who will stop these outside forces or its inside backed groups from implementing their own plans? as Americans isn’t it in our interest to support an ally (Iraq) and our relations/ interests in it rather than handing it over to bigger scale Chaos.
Iraqi gov. and army are not ready to protect the country with their present capacity,so, how a full withdrawal will be the solution of a prosperous peaceful Iraq?
In the end i would like to thank you again and stress that the conversation had favoritism towards one side of the Iraq case not all sides.
